About Dig It™ Handwear

The inception of Dig It™ Handwear began back in 2005 when founders Wendy Johannson and Claudia Harvey began searching for functional and fashionable gardening/utility gloves that provided more protection for their nails.

Both avid gardeners and “do-it-yourselfers”, their love of the outdoors and all things relating to gardening were often dampened by the deterioration of their hands, fingers and manicures from a day in the yard.

After searching coast to coast, they researched what was available on the market and realized that there wasn’t a product for sale that addressed their needs. So, armed with the determination to provide women with the protection they need for their hands and manicures, they designed Dig It™ Handwear, a glove more precisely suited to women.

The collaborative design process included industrial designers, glove manufactures, nail technicians, salon owners and of course, gardeners. They were able to marry their commitment to all things green and stylish by making a product made from 100% recycled materials.
